OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

At Amenity House, the goal of Occupational therapy is to develop and nurture your child's everyday life skills with an inclusive and patient-centered approach designed with our patients, families, and caregivers in mind to enhance the uniqueness in every child.

We do this by teaching and educating our patients on daily life skills such as Handwriting, dressing, toilet/potty training, social interaction/engagement, and how to self-regulate, using sensory approaches that require therapeutic and creative interventions for your child’s increased independence

ASIA GRIGSBY, COTA

My name is Asia Grigsby, I am a Louisiana native born and raised, a long way from home, but I found my Home here at Amenity House and you can too!  Just a little about myself, I obtained my Bachelor’s in PRE-PT from the Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge, GEAUX TIGERS! I then returned to school to obtain my Associate’s degree in Applied Sciences to get an Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification at Panola College in East Texas. I fell in love with the ability to be with patients at their most vulnerable times and be the one to help them navigate through the tunnel of hardship to get to victory. I enjoy encouraging, instilling hope, and inspiring millennials of my generation to be brave examples for the children who are our future. I have been at Amenity for 3 years and now serve as Therapy Manager to an amazing group of diverse therapists from all walks of life, which I hope you get to know one day soon. My daily goal is to instill education in my therapists so they can provide the best quality of care to our patients. I am big on maintaining a positive work environment and culture for our therapists to thrive and be the best therapist they can be for their patients. Our goal as a company is to be a resource and a respite for hope by providing patient-centered care to our little ones on their journey. I have a passion for working with children who struggle with behaviors and sensory regulation and am certified as a Safety Care Specialist. Some fun facts about me, I enjoy eating crawfish and after work, I love to do Zumba and MixxedFit to stay active. I am a Certified MixxedFit Instructor and enjoy burning calories while dancing to my favorite jams! If you are reading this, you are in the right place, and it is no mistake. I hope to greet you soon with open arms. WELCOME HOME!!!
